The Miami Dolphins have their new defensive coordinator in Anthony Weaver and it’s going to be interesting to see what defensive scheme he brings with him. Weaver has played for and worked along with some very good defensive minded coaches like Rex Ryan and Wink Martindale. Those two loved a blitz heavy style of defense, so maybe Weaver can bring some ideas from those systems. But for the past two seasons with Mike Macdonald, the Baltimore Ravens ran a system that blitzed less and relied on post-snap movement to confuse opposing offenses. Thankfully Weaver has worked in some different systems and can hopefully develop a playbook that keeps the Dolphins defense in the top of the league.
