The Splash Zone 8/17/23: Christian Wilkins wants a new contract

For the past week, Christian Wilkins has been at practice but hasn’t been practicing with the team. He will do warm-ups and individual drills but has not been involved in team drills. Mike McDaniel met with the media yesterday and revealed why Wilkins has not been participating. Instead of a holdout, Wilkins is doing a hold-in while his agent works with the Miami Dolphins on getting the star defensive lineman a new contract. McDaniel said Wilkins’ agent and the team are in negotiation on a long-term deal and we can only hope we get news of an extension soon because there is no one more deserving of an extension than Wilkins.
