The Miami Dolphins learned the hard way last season about the value of having a good backup quarterback on the roster. Starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa missed some time, which thrusted Teddy Bridgewater into the starting role. Bridgewater wasn’t fantastic but there were also times where he started and then got hurt. Which meant rookie Skylar Thompson was piloting the offense then. With Bridgewater heading to free agency, head coach Mike McDaniel and general manager Chris Grier will have a decision to make with the backup quarterback situation.
