Miami Dolphins rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill continues his recovery from a knee and quadriceps injury that sidelined him for most of the team's game against the New York Jets. The team's starting quarterback is officially listed as questionable heading into Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts.

The Miami Dolphins have been led by the surprising performance of rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill all season. However, the rookie missed his first snaps of the year after being injured early in the first quarter against the New York Jets and having to give way to backup Matt Moore. After an MRI revealed no structural damage to his knee, Tannehill has remained optimistic all week that he will be ready to play come Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts.

The Dolphins have listed Tannehill as questionable on the official injury report. Head coach Joe Philbin, during his Friday press conference, told the media, "Ryan Tannehill was limited and he will be listed as questionable on the injury report. We're going to make a decision as soon as we have enough relevant information to make a good decision. We have no timetable for that."

Tannehill has been limited in practice throughout the week, working with a knee brace and sleeve on his left leg. After the MRI results, Tannehill was diagnosed with a bruised quad and a bone bruise to his knee. While he was uncomfortable, he has never questioned whether he would be ready to play on Sunday. The real question came down to his ability to drop back after the snap, and his mobility in the pocket.

That's a question that will only be able to be answered on game day.

Joining Tannehill on the Dolphins injury report is cornerback Richard Marshall, who has been ruled out and will miss his fourth straight game. Wide receiver Brian Hartline (groin) and defensive tackle Tony McDaniel (knee) are both listed as questionable, while linebacker Karlos Dansby (biceps), quarterback Matt Moore, center Mike Pouncey (achilles), running back Daniel Thomas (elbow), and linebacker Jason Trusnik (forearm) are all probable.

Miami Dolphins quaterback Ryan Tannehill is taking first-team snaps during Wednesday's practice.

Miami Dolphins quaterback Ryan Tannehill is taking first-team snaps in practice on Wednesday according to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald. Tannehill hyperextended his knee and suffered a deep thigh bruise in the Dolphins' 30-9 win over the New York Jets. He was injured during the first quarter and backup quarterback Matt Moore stepped in to lead Miami to victory.

Tannehill was 2-for-5 for 18 yards against the Jets before being forced out of the game. On the season, the rookie has thrown for 1,472 yards and has completed 59.1 percent of his passes. Tannehill has thrown four touchdowns and six interceptions; he has also ran for one touchdown so far this season.

A first-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, Tannehill beat out Moore and an injured David Garrard to win the Dolphins' starting quarterback position. He has put up average stats on the season, but has helped lead Miami to a 4-3 record, including three straight victories.

Miami Dolphins rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill has performed far above expectations this season. However, he missed nearly the entire game against the New York Jets with a knee and quad injury. After an MRI on Monday showed no structural damage, Tannehill is said to be "optimistic" about playing this week against the Indianapolis Colts.

Miami Dolphins rookie quarterback underwent an MRI yesterday to further evaluate the knee and quadraceps injury that caused him to miss nearly the entire game against the New York Jets. Tannehill was injured early in the first quarter when he was sacked by Jets linebacker Calvin Pace. Second string quarterback Matt Moore replaced Tannehill throughout the remainder of the contest, leading the Dolphins to a 30-9 victory.

Tannehill's MRI yesterday show no structural damage, according to a report from the Miami Herald. Tannehill was diagnosed with a bruised quad and a bone bruise in his left knee. The rookie spent the majority of the game Sunday on the stationary bike trying to loosen up his knee, and wanted to go back into the game. He was considered available if something were to happen to Moore, but that was it.

"Not really, no," head coach Joe Philbin said during his Monday press conference when asked if he ever considered putting his starting quarterback back into the game.

Philbin was also asked if, when he saw Tannehill after the game, if the quarterback was limping. "He was sitting down nicely when I saw him [on the plane], so I don't know about the limp."

Tannehill, the eighth pick in last April's NFL Draft, remains optimistic that he will be ready to play next Sunday, as the Dolphins travel north to face first overall draft pick Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts. Offensive coordinator Mike Sherman was asked yesterday if he shared the optimism with Tannehill. "Well I didn't see him do anything today. I saw him walking around a bit and I know he's fairly optimistic, but we just have to wait and see."

The Dolphins' will wait and see until Wednesday to get an idea of how Tannehill is looking. While there is no structural damage to his knee, the swelling and pain will most likely be the deciding factor if the rookie resumes his starters role, or if Matt Moore will make his first start of the year.

According to the Miami Herald's report, two players saw Tannehill on Monday, and they both said he was walking a lot better than when they had last seen him on Sunday night. Hopefully that means the "considerable discomfort" he has been dealing with is subsiding, and he will be ready to go by Sunday.

But, if he can't, at least Moore has shown that he is capable of operating successfully in the offense.

The Miami Dolphins are playing the New York Jets for the second time this season. Early in the fourth quarter, rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill was injured, and is receiving work on the sideline.

Miami Dolphins rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill, who has taken every offensive snap for the Dolphins this season, limped off the field after being sacked by the New York Jets' Calvin Pace in the first quarter today. Tannehill limped off the field, and is being treated on the sideline.

Second string quarterback Matt Moore has entered the game as Tannehill's replacement. No word on how long Tannehill could miss. The Dolphins are listing his return as questionable.

The Jets went three-and-out on their next drive, giving Tannehill little time to recover.

More news as it's available. The Dolphins currently lead the Jets 3-0 in the first period. Miami scored on their opening drive, then recovered an onside kick to get a second drive, but were forced to punt after the Tannehill sack.
