NFL Mock Draft 2017: SB Nation updates projections with Combine results

NFL: Combine Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

The NFL Scouting Combine is underway, with defensive backs on the field Monday for their workouts. As the Combine comes to an end, it means it is time for a rash of mock draft updates all around the web, with players moving up or down draft board based on how fast they ran, how high they jumped, or how well they turn their hips during position drills.

Those updates started this morning, with Dan Kadar from SB Nation posting his latest version of a 2017 NFL Mock Draft. He writes, of the update, “This week’s mock features some movement, particularly in the last 10 picks.” The Miami Dolphins saw a change in their pick, even if it was only to take a different player at the same position.

Previously, Kadar had the Dolphins using the 22nd overall selection on Vanderbilt linebacker Zach Cunningham. He changes that pick for a player who was not at the combine - or at least was not at it very long. He now projects Miami to use that pick on Alabama linebacker Reuben Foster.

Of the pick, Kadar writes:

Foster got kicked out of the combine, and teams may be concerned about his attitude. If that causes him to drop on draft night, a team like Miami would be the beneficiary. He would start straight away in Miami.

Foster was involved in a shouting match with a hospital worker during his “pre-exam.” Foster took exception to the length of wait he had, and when he addressed it to the worker, it somehow elevated into a face-to-face shouting match. Foster was sent home from the Combine for the incident, and he has sent a letter to all of the NFL teams to apologize for it as well.

Foster was not expected to take part in drills at the Combine as he recovers from shoulder surgery. He is expected to be ready for training camps in the summer.

What do you think of Foster as Miami’s pick?
