Oh, mock draft season how we love you and hate you. You give us a chance to get to know prospects and to talk about what the Miami Dolphins should do in April, but there are just so very many of you that it gets overwhelming. But you know what, we are still going to talk about you.

So, with that in mind, let’s take a look at SB Nation’s latest mock draft from Dan Kadar. In this update to his 2017 NFL Mock Draft, Kadar developed a two-round mock, building off the basis of his last first-round projection. While there are some adjustments to the first round, the majority of the picks remain in line with his last effort. This week’s update gives us a chance to look at the Dolphins’ selections with the 22nd overall pick and the 54th selection. Kadar doesn’t provide explanations of his picks, but the selections themselves seem to fit perfectly with Miami’s needs heading into this year’s Draft.

Kadar has the Dolphins adding Michigan defensive end Taco Charlton with the 22nd pick, a selection that gives Miami a young defensive end to add to the Cameron Wake-Andre Branch-William Hayes-Terrence Fede rotation, while also giving them the heir apparent to Wake. It also allows Charlton to have a year or two to continue his development into an NFL player while the Dolphins use Wake as their primary pass-rusher. It is likely an excellent move for the Dolphins and fills a need.

Miami then comes back, according to Kadar, in the second round to add Ohio State offensive lineman Pat Elflein. The 6-foot-3, 300 pound guard and center would give the Dolphins depth on the line and compete for an immediate starting position, likely at left guard. He has a background as a four-year wrestler at Ohio State, and gives Miami an immediate back-up to Mike Pouncey as well. Elflein could be another excellent selection for the Dolphins.

Would you be happy with these two picks for the Dolphins? Vanderbilt linebacker Zach Cunningham and Michigan safety/linebacker Jabrill Peppers are both still on the board with Miami’s 22nd pick. Would you rather see the team take one of those two players with that selection?
