The NFL Draft is less than five weeks away, which means it is time for us to start putting together our annual The Phinsider Community Mock Draft. We have struggled the past couple of years with getting the community mock draft set up and smoothly running, with people either signing up to be in it and then never contacting me once they are selected or people just never making a pick. Hopefully, we can turn that around this year.
Here is all you have to do to sign up. Leave a comment below with “Interested” as the subject line. I will then take everyone who signs up by Tuesday night and randomize them to assign teams. I will announce the teams on Wednesday and the mock draft will begin with the first picks due on Friday. All you have to do to make your pick is email me with your selection for your team when we reach the point that you are “on the clock.”
We don’t do trades during this mock, so you will be making picks where the team you are assigned is slated to pick.
I’m going to try to do something a little different this year. Usually, I ask for you to send me a paragraph explaining your pick, and then I create an entire article about the pick. This year, we are going to run just one article, with the picks updated in it as they are made. I will ask you - though you do not have to do it - to write an explanation of your pick as a FanPost and we will run those over on the side of the site.
