Ryan Tannehill has an injury to his right (throwing) shoulder. That is about the extent of what has been known about why Tannehill has missed three games, and will miss a fourth tomorrow, this season. Yesterday, a little more came out about the injury, as reports indicated Tannehill has a capsule injury to the shoulder.
What is that? The Miami Herald’s Adam Beasley looked up the injury on integrehab.com:

Tannehill’s shoulder injury could continue to bother him, but the rehab right now continues to be rest. Miami’s starting quarterback has reportedly been throwing during his rehab work, but he has not thrown in the practice sessions viewed by the media. Brock Osweiler will continue to start in Tannehill’s place for as long as Tannehill’s shoulder continues to be an issue.
Osweiler and the Dolphins will face the New York Jets in Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium Sunday with kickoff at 1pm ET.
