The Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs are preparing for their Week 16 contest, with both teams issuing their Thursday practice reports last night. The Dolphins had several players not practice or be limited on Thursday due to various injuries, while the Chiefs continue to see players deal with an illness.
For Miami, wide receiver DeVante Parker has not practice this week as he continues to deal with an ankle injury, while safety Michael Thomas also has not been on the practice field, in his case with a knee injury. Head coach Adam Gase said of Parker’s injury, “At some point in the game, I don’t know when it was, he kind of got rolled up on and he just kind of kept playing. We thought he was going to be alright and we should be good for the game. I mean him going out there running around and just keep getting stiffened back up; but we should be alright.”
The Dolphins saw defensive end Andre Branch continue to be limited with a knee injury, while fellow defensive end Terrence Fede moved up from not practicing on Wednesday to being limited on Thursday as he deals with his own knee issue. Safety T.J. McDonald and quarterback Matt Moore were both limited on Thursday, their same status as Wednesday, with McDonald working to recover from a shoulder injury while Moore has a foot problem. Center Mike Pouncey did not practice on Wednesday, then moved up to limited on Thursday as the team continues to work to make sure his chronic hip issues of the past do not flare up again this year. Cornerback Cordrea Tankersley and running back Damien Williams were both limited on Wednesday and Thursday, with Tankersley recovering from an ankle injury and Williams dealing with a shoulder issue.
Miami also listed linebacker Chase Allen (elbow), defensive end Charles Harris (hip), defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh (knee), and defensive end Cameron Wake (not injury related) on the report, all as full participants. Suh and Wake had not practices on Wednesday.
The Chiefs’ injury report is shorter than Miami’s though it did add a player on Thursday. Offensive lineman Eric Fisher (illness), defensive lineman Jarvis Jenkins (elbow), defensive lineman Bennie Logan (knee), defensive back Eric Murray (ankle), linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis (shoulder), and wide receiver Albert Wilson (hamstring/shoulder) all were full participants in practice on Thursday. Fisher and Pierre-Louis had not practiced on Wednesday.
