The Miami Dolphins will face off against the New England Patriots at 1pm ET today. Ahead of the game, both teams have released their inactive players list, making seven player unavailable for the game.
For the Dolphins, the list is guard Isaac Asiata, guard Jermon Bushrod, quarterback Jay Cutler, defensive end William Hayes, defensive back Torry McTyer, wide receiver Rashawn Scott, and defensive back Maurice Smith. Matt Moore will replace Cutler as the starting quarterback, while Bushrod will likely be replaced by Jesse Davis at right guard while Sam Young will start at right tackle in place of Davis, who was starting there in place of Ja’Wuan James who landed on injured reserve earlier this year. Hayes being out of the lineup will likely mean more playing time for Charles Harris and Terrence Fede, but will hurt Miami’s run defense as Hayes is the team’s best run-stuffing defensive end.
For New England, the inactive list includes center David Andrews, tight end Martellus Bennett, tackle Marcus Cannon, running back Mike Gillislee, wide receiver Chris Hogan, cornerback Eric Rowe, and wide receiver Matthew Slater. Bennett has been dealing with a shoulder injury all season, an issue which ultimately led to his release from the Green Bay Packers and the Patriots being able to claim him off waivers and bring him back to New England. Hogan and Gillislee being inactive keeps the two former Dolphins players from facing the South Florida franchise.
