Miami Dolphins starting quarterback Jay Cutler has left the team’s Week 7 game against the New York Jets with an apparent injury. He was driven into the ground as he attempted a pass in the third quarter, looking deep for Kenny Stills.
Cutler attempted to throw a ball on the sideline, but immediately grimaced in pain and was escorted back to the locker room.
Cutler left the game 12-for-17 for 138 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. He had a 109.4 passer rating when he was forced out of the contest.
Trainers seemed to be looking at his shoulder and his chest.
Backup quarterback Matt Moore has entered the game due to the injury, with the crowd cheering his entrance. The Dolphins ran the ball three times before Moore missed on one pass attempt and Miami was forced to punt. Miami trails the Jets 21-14 with 11 minutes remaining in the third quarter.
Update: The Dolphins have reported Cutler as having a chest injury.
