Ryan Tannehill injury forces him from game; Matt Moore in

NFL: Arizona Cardinals at Miami Dolphins Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

Miami Dolphins starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill has had to leave the team’s game against the Arizona Cardinals late in the third quarter. Tannehill had not missed a snap this season before this injury. Matt Moore has taken over at quarterback.

Tannehill walked off the field, but laid on the turf for several minutes after being hit in the knee on a pass. He had just delivered the ball when a defender hit him in the planted knee.

The fifth year quarterback has started every one of the 77 games Miami has played since he was drafted.

Tannehill was first looked at on the trainers table on the sideline, then limped back to the locker room. No official word on his possibility of return has been released.

He was 15-for-20 for 195 yards with three touchdowns and an interception in the game, giving him a 124.0 passer rating. The Dolphins lead the Cardinals 21-9 as the clock moves to the final quarter.

UPDATE:

The Dolphins have officially listed Tannehill as questionable to return with a knee injury.

UPDATE 2:

Tannehill returned to the sideline, but in street clothes. Several players came over to him and hugged him. Seems to be emotional on the sideline. Cannot be good.
