The Miami Dolphins will visit the New York Jets this weekend, completing the AFC East division rivals' home-and-home series for the year. New York won the first meeting in Week 4 of the season 27-14, a game held in London as a part of the International Series this season. Ahead of the Week 12 contest, both Miami and the Jets have released their initial injury reports for the weekend.
The Dolphins had four players not take part in the day's practice, with offensive tackle Branden Albert missing due to a non-injury related reason, offensive tackle Ja'Wuan James continuing to miss due to a toe injury, line backer Jelani Jenkins out of practice due to an ankle injury, and wide receiver Jarvis Landry out due to a knee problem. According to interim head coach Dan Campbell, both Landry and Albert were held out of practice just to give them a day of rest. "Yeah we were just giving him a break," Campbell explained when asked about Landry's absence at practice. "He's been running high reps for a while now and we felt like we needed to give him a break. That's what we did with Branden Albert as well."
Dolphins safety Walt Aikens was limited in the practice on Tuesday with an ankle injury. Joining him as limited for Miami were safety Reshad Jones, with an injured pectoral muscle; cornerback Brice McCain, with a injured knee; linebacker Koa Misi, with an abdominal injury; linebacker Spencer Paysinger, with a neck injury; and linebacker Kelvin Sheppard, with an injured hamstring. Miami also had one played listed as a full participant in the practice, with running back Jay Ajayi, who has an elbow issue.
On the Jets side of the injury report, defensive back Darrelle Revis leads the list. Revis sustained a concussion last week and was a non-participant in Wednesday's practice. Joining him on the side of the practice were defensive back Dion Bailey (ankle), tight end Kellen Davis (non-injury related), and offensive lineman Nick Mangold (hand).
The Jets listed wide receiver Brandon Marshall, who is dealing with a toe problem, as limited in the workout. The rest of the Jets' injury report were all full participants: linebacker Demario Davis, with a ribs injury; wide receiver Eric Decker, dealing with a knee issue; quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, with torn ligaments in his left (non-throwing) thumb; linebacker Calvin Pace, who has a toe injury; punter Ryan Quigley, who has a right knee (kicking leg) injury; defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson, dealing with a hamstring problem; defensive back Buster Skrine, with a shoulder injury; wide receiver Devin Smith, who has a foot injury; and defensive back Marcus Williams, with a knee issue.
The Dolphins and Jets will both update their injury reports again on Thursday and on Friday. They will kick off at 1pm ET Sunday afternoon.
