Texans at Dolphins injury report long, but mostly probable

The Miami Dolphins and Houston Texans have released their injury report for the weekend. We take a look at the long list of players from both clubs.

It is Friday afternoon, which means it is time for the weekly injury reports to be released ahead of Sunday's Week 7 contests. The Miami Dolphins host the Houston Texans this week, and both teams released a lengthy report, but listed most of the players on it as probable.

The Dolphins list of probable players includes offensive tackle Branden Albert (hamstring), cornerback Zack Bowman (non-injury related), defensive tackle A.J. Francis (back), cornerback Brent Grimes (knee/ribs), safety Reshad Jones (shoulder), quarterback Matt Moore (nose), defensive tackle Jordan Phillips (ankle), center Mike Pouncey (hip), wide receiver Kenny Stills (back), and defensive end Cameron Wake (hamstring). On the Texans side of the report, guard Oday Aboushi (toe), runnning back Alfred Blue (toe), tackle Duane Brown (hand), inside linebacker Brian Cushing (ankle), inside linebacker Akeem Dent (hamstring), running back Arian Foster (groin), running back Jonathan Grimes (hamstring), center Ben Jones (no reason listed), tackle Dereck Newton (knee/toe), inside linebacker Brian Peters (hamstring), running back Chris Polk (knee), and wide receiver Nate Washington (hamstring) were all listed as probable.

Once you get past the mass list of players who should play on Sunday, the injury report is smaller, but does have some players who could impact the game. The only non-probable player for Miami is cornerback Brice McCain, who is listed as Doubtful with a knee problem, meaning he is 75-percent likely to not play Sunday. The Dolphins will make up for his absence with Jamar Taylor starting opposite Brent Grimes, and likely rookie Bobby McCain manning the nickle position. Zack Bowman could see more playing time as well, and the team could consider moving safety Michael Thomas to a cornerback spot if needed.

The Texans listed three players as questionable for the game, giving them a 50-50 chance to play in the contest: guard Brandon Brooks (toe), outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney (ankle), and safety Quintin Demps (hamstring). All three players are starters for the Texans.

Houston also ruled three players out of the game, with cornerback Kareem Jackson (ankle), inside linebacker Benardrick McKinney (concussion), and wide receiver Cecil Shorts III (hamstring) all missing the game. Jackson is one of the starting cornerbacks for the Texans, while McKinney and Shorts are both key members of their respective position groupings.

The Dolphins will host Houston, a team they have never beaten in seven matchups, Sunday at 1pm ET.
