Dannell Ellerbe injury adds to long list for Dolphins today

The Miami Dolphins have seen a lot of starting defensive players go to the sideline with injuries today. The newest is starting linebacker Dannell Ellerbe.

Ron Schwane-USA TODAY Sports

The Miami Dolphins came into today's game against the Atlanta Falcons without starting cornerback Dimitri Patterson and Pro Bowl defensive tackle Paul Soliai.  Throughout the game, the team has seen Cameron Wake, Philip Wheeler, and Koa Misi all miss playing time.  Add to that list Dannell Ellerbe, who headed to the sideline following the final play of the third quarter.

Ellerbe has been dealing with a pectoral/rib injury all week, and was able to walk off the field, but was wincing in pain as he did so.

Meanwhile, Misi and Wake have both missed the majority of the game with injuries.  Wheeler was able to return.

Ellerbe was able to return to the field after the fourth quarter break.

The Dolphins and Falcons are tied at 20 at the start of the fourth quarter.
