This Sunday, the Miami Dolphins will host the Carolina Panthers during the NFL's Week 12 slate of games. As per the NFL's rules, both teams issued their respective injury reports last night.
For the Dolphins, the injury report starts exactly the same as it has the last couple of weeks: tackle Jonathan Martin has been ruled out of the game with his "illness." After that, the team also had cornerback Dimitri Patterson (groin) and center Mike Pouncey (illness) not on the practice field on Wednesday.
The team listed safety Chris Clemons (knee/shoulder), linebacker Dannell Ellerbe (knee), safety Reshad Jones (groin), and wide receiver Mike Wallace (hamstring) as limited during the Wednesday workout. Wide receiver Rishard Matthews (back), linebacker Koa Misi (knee), defensive end Derrick Shelby (ankle), and running back Daniel Thomas (ribs) were all full participants in the practice.
For the Panthers, they only liked players who were not able to participate in Wednesday's workout. Tight end Ben Hartsock (knee), linebacker Chase Blackburn (foot), cornerback Drayton Florence (groin), defensive end Charles Johnson (knee), and guard Chris Scott (knee), were all on the list.
Johnson, who leads Carolina with 8.5 sacks, was injured during the team's win over the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football. He re-entered the game after the injury, but was never a factor again. After the game, it was revealed that Johnson sprained his MCL, the same injury that kept Cameron Wake out of a game earlier this season for Miami, and severely limited his play time in two more games.
Both teams will update their injury reports tomorrow, though the Dolphins don't actually practice on Thursdays, so their report will be an estimate of what would have happened if they were to workout.
