Mike Pouncey injury: 'Back 2 Life!'

Miami Dolphins center Mike Pouncey has spent the last few days fighting a gallbladder infection. This morning, Pouncey appeared to tweet out an announcement that he is returning to the team for practice today.

Miami Dolphins center Mike Pouncey sat out this past weekend's contest against the San Diego Chargers with a gallbladder infection. Yesterday, Jeff Darlington from NFL Network reported that doctors were attempting to treat the infection with medication, rather than removing the gallbladder, adding surgical reccovery time to the process. Based on the above tweet, it sounds like Pouncey will be back with the team today.

Of course, how effective Pouncey will be, and if he will be available for this Sunday's contest against the Carolina Panthers, is still to be seen. The team does practice today, so we should at least be able to confirm Pouncey's presence at the workout. The team also releases their first official injury report of the week this afternoon, again providing a chance to confirm Pouncey's status.

Without Pouncey, the Dolphins started Nate Garner at center, moving him from left guard, where he had been filling in for the suspended Richie Incognito. Sam Brenner was promoted from the practice squad and took the starting left guard position last week.

Miami does not practice on Thursday, meaning Pouncey could have a chance to get on the practice field today, then have an off day to judge how he feels, before ramping up for the game on Sunday. The Dolphins host the Panthers in a 1pm ET game.
