The Miami Dolphins have ignored the traditional NFL weekly schedule this year, choosing to have Thursday off instead of Tuesday. However, the team still needs to issue a practice report to the NFL. Despite there being no team activity yesterday, the Dolphins did upgrade two players.
Don Jones and Jason Trusnik, both reported as non-participants in Wednesday's workouts, would have been limited on Thursday. While Jones and Trusnik have limited impact on defense, both players are important contributors on special teams. The Dolphins added Austin Spitler, a player they released in the final set of cuts at the end of the preseason, this week to offset the injuries to Jones and Trusnik.
The rest of the injury report, including defensive end Cameron Wake, who is battling through a sprained MCL in his knee, remained the same, with cornerback Nolan Carroll, safety Chris Clemons, linebacker Dannell Ellerbe, wide receiver Brandon Gibson, and linebacker Koa Misi included alongside Jones, Trusnik, and Wake on the limited list. Also on the injruy report, the team listed linebacker Jonathan Freeny and defensive tackle, both of whom have been listed as full participants for both Wednesday and Thursday.
For the Ravens, who were practicing on Thursday, they added defensive tackle Marcus Spears to the did not participate listing, joining wide receiver Marlon Broown, defensive tackle Terrence Cody, center Ryan Jensen, linebacker Albert McClellan, wide receiver Deonte Thompson, and cornerback Lardarius Webb. The limited listing did not change from Wednesday, with linebacker Arthur Brown, running back Shaun Draughn, wide receiver Jacoby Jones, and wide receiver Brandon Stokely all on the report.
The teams will issue their final injury report for the week later today, including the Out, Doubtful, Questionable, and Probable determinations. The Dolphins host the Ravens at 1pm ET on Sunday.
