Miami Dolphins Fantasy Football Sit/Start: Week 5

Miami looks to get right in the friendly confines of Hard Rock Stadium against the visiting Titans.

So after Week 3, I didn’t have a great feeling going into a short week on the road against a consistent playoff contender in Cincinnati. And when half the offensive line was out with injury the Dolphins offense went from anemic to flat lining. The extra few days and the feelings on frustrations from the offense should lead to some dynamic play calling and maybe even a cameo from Arian Foster, but I doubt that.

Note: The point projections are based on a standard PPR league scoring (0.5 PPR) with fractional points.

START

Ryan Tannehill (QB) – Yahoo Fantasy Projection: 17.60 PTS

I know this sounds crazy, but Tannehill doesn’t ever have two bad fantasy games in a row. And with Arian Foster seemingly out for one more week the Dolphins backfield is still a mess which means Tannehill’s arm will be heavily relied on to get everything else on the offense moving. Tannehill will bounce back and keep everyone thinking he is still the franchise quarterback as this opinion changes every other week for most fans.

Jarvis Landry (WR) – Yahoo Fantasy Projection: 13.53 PTS

It wasn’t Landry’s best game ever, but he still managed to grab seven catches for 61 yards. It’s a good thing that is considered one of his worst performances. Even when Tannehill and the offense are stumbling around in the dark, Jarvis Landry has a flashlight to find some fantasy points every week.

Dolphins Defense/Special Teams – Yahoo Fantasy Projection: 5.58 PTS

The Dolphins defense played very well against the Bengals last Thursday even when missing Jelani Jenkins and Koa Misi. The defensive line was imposing and Reshad Jones was a phantom popping up all over the field to make big plays. The great thing about the Titans is they have no one like A.J. Green so as long as DeMarco Murray is bottled up the defense should keep the Titans down. It also bodes well that Tennessee is last in the NFL with 15.5 points per game.

SIT

Devante Parker/Kenny Stills (WR) – Yahoo Fantasy Projection: 10.34/7.09 PTS

Parker and Stills are getting lumped together again as it seems like a see saw between these two on who will be the favorite target behind Landry. I still think Parker is a more consistent option going forward, but Stills potential to make a big play looms every week. Unless your fantasy receivers are decimated by injury I would leave this pair on your fantasy bench in Week 5

Jay Ajayi/Kenyan Drake (RB) – Yahoo Fantasy Projection: 8.29/8.01

The Dolphins backfield remains a mystery and a lackluster mystery at that. It really didn’t matter who carried the ball against Cincy there was very little progress on the ground. This is due to the injured offensive line, but in fantasy terms I would avoid the Dolphins backfield until Arian Foster comes back healthy or one of the four other running backs puts in a dominant performance.
