HOW BOUT THEM DOLPHINS!?! After a monster win against a good Steelers team it’s safe to say having the starting offensive line for the first game this season is pretty helpful to the fantasy production of Miami. The Fins looks to keep it rolling against the red hot Buffalo Bills at Hard Rock Stadium.
Note: The point projections are based on a standard PPR league scoring (0.5 PPR) with fractional points.
START
Ryan Tannehill (QB) – Yahoo Fantasy Projection: 16.50 PTS
Well, Tannehill was a dumb penalty and DeVante Parker drop away from putting up 20+ points last week. He faced the least pressure of his five years in Miami only being pressured with 6% of the Dolphins’ offensive snaps. If the Dolphins line can keep anywhere close to that level of protection going forward Tannehill may be able to rise above the mire and cement his place as a top 10 fantasy quarterback.
Jarvis Landry (WR) – Yahoo Fantasy Projection: 12.11 PTS
Landry is an elite PPR receiver in fantasy football even on his relatively quiet days. Landry snagged seven catches for 91 yards against the Steelers. You want Landry in your starting lineup finger pointing you to a fantasy win this weekend.
Jay Ajayi (RB) – Yahoo Fantasy Projection: 3.48
I’m not sure who is coming up with the fantasy projections, but I would assume they haven’t been watching the evolution of the Dolphins pining for Ajayi to be a feature back. This desire finally paid massive dividends last week with a 202 yard and two touchdown performance. The line was opening up big holes, but Ajayi was finishing runs with huge bursts. The Bills have a decent defense but are allowing over 100 yards per game.
SIT
Devante Parker/Kenny Stills (WR) – Yahoo Fantasy Projection: 9.70/6.48 PTS
If you are in injury or bye week hell in Week 7 then you should consider starting Parker, but if you have a full roster these guys just aren’t showing the consistent production you need in a fantasy starter. The Dolphins tight end situation is also a mess. Cameron is probably quitting football and there is little difference between Dion Sims and Marqueis Gray so avoid the Dolphins tight ends no matter what you do this season.
Arian Foster (RB) – Yahoo Fantasy Projection: 10.39 PTS
I’m not sure who is running the fantasy projections at Yahoo, but it’s safe to say they think this is 2010 Arian Foster, not hobbled old man 2016 Foster that currently resides on the Dolphins roster. I honestly think it’s time to abandon ship on Arian Foster, especially if you’re in a keeper league. Foster has very limited value barring any injury to Ajayi and will most likely be drifting into free agency obscurity after the year ends. Damien Williams and Kenyan Drake have much more to offer the Dolphins as they look to see which young guys are playmakers and which need to be released this spring.
Dolphins Defense/Special Teams – Yahoo Fantasy Projection: 4.10 PTS
The Bills have allowed the seventh fewest fantasy points by opposing defenses this season. It was good to see the Dolphins finally force a couple turnovers, but I expect this to be a pretty sound game of football from the Bills offense.
