Last week, I wrote that Miami should trade with Detroit @ 18, to select Bijan Robinson. However, by the lack of commentary, I decided to give it another shot this week. As we all know, Offensive Line has been one of the areas of concern for Dolfans this century. Miami's three best picks were Jake Long, Mike Pouncey, and Laremy Tunsil. Pouncey was the only one that lasted more than 5 years with the Dolphins.
This past week, Louis Riddick of ESPN, said that he believes that Wright will be an All Pro and play the position for the next 10 to 12 years barring injury. Wright would slot in at RT. Austin Jackson would become the swing tackle or he will compete against Eichenberg @ LG. Right now, the fan base is not enamored with either one of them.
Before continuing about Wright's attributes. Let's discuss the terms of the trade. Since Miami doesn't have a lot of draft capital this year, we will be giving up our 1st round pick next year and two players. Raekwon Davis and Cedric Wilson. Miami would also receive Arizona's compensatory pick 96 in round 3 of the 2023 draft. This would mean that the Dolphins would be selecting Pks 12, 51, 84, and 96 in the first 3 rounds. The Cardinals have one of the worst rosters in the league and I believe that they would welcome a couple of veterans. Davis is a solid player, but he's never going to be the next Richard Seymour who can get you sacks. Hopefully in the 3rd round, the team can draft a nose tackle to replace him or can rotate on the Defensive Line.
For those of you who are not familiar with Wright, I suggest you watch the Alabama Tennessee Game in which the Volunteers beat the Crimson Tide. Will Anderson, the consensus edge rusher in the draft wasn't able to do anything against him. In fact, Riddick asked Anderson who was the toughest blocker he faced this past season and Anderson didn't hesitate when he said the OT from Tennessee. The added benefit of drafting him is that he will be the blind side protector for Tua.

Finally, the reason I chose Arizona as a trade partner is because they are drafting right in front of the NY Jets @ 13 and the Patriots @ 14.
FYI Arizona owns picks 3, 33, 66, 96, 105, 168, 180, and 213.
I look forward to reading your comments.
