There are some that think that when the Miami Dolphins lose, there can’t be a Most Valuable ‘Phin selection for that contest. To those people, I politely request that you lighten up a bit.
Every painstakingly long offseason we gluttonously consume every tiny morsel of news while we wait for regular season action to arrive. Yet, when the season does get here, we’re supposed to completely ignore the fact that even in losses, good things can happen. Some need to learn that players can still have good games even when their teams lose.
So, no, I’m not going to bypass this article after Dolphins’ losses. You can choose to do so, however. Just don’t click on the headline. Instead, I’ll choose to highlight those good performances in otherwise bad games. We only get 17 of these things (and hopefully some playoff contests as well).
Miami Dolphins Week Six MVP - Bradley Chubb
Against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night, Bradley Chubb totaled seven combined tackles (good for second on the team behind Jerome Baker), while amassing a quarterback hit, a tackle for loss, two sacks and a forced fumble.
It was one of Chubb’s most productive games as a member of the Miami Dolphins since he was acquired from the Denver Broncos for a first round selection at the trade deadline during the 2022 season.
Chubb’s already stellar performance is even more impressive when you consider he did his damage against one of the NFL’s best offensive lines. Pro Football Focus ranked the Eagles big men up front as the league’s third best offensive line ahead of their week seven contest with the Miami Dolphins.
Here’s hoping Chubb can continue his dominance throughout the season as his running mate, Jaelan Phillips, continues to get healthier as the games go on.
