Phinsider Question Of The Day 05/29/2021

So as we Miami Dolphins fans move through the remainder of the offseason, offseason workouts and eventually training camp this upcoming summer there is one story that will certainly dominate the news, as it applies to the Phins. It's the same story that you have been reading since the 2020 season ended. Yep, you are going to continue to get beat over the head, not only on this site but nearly everywhere else, with stories about the Dolphins starter Tua Tagavailoa and his further “development” or “progress” or whatever term you wish to use in place of playing at a much higher level than what we saw in his first season in the NFL.

We can continue to debate why he had a slow start and what he will eventually become until we are blue in the face but no number of articles, fans, or so-called experts can predict what no one can ever seem to p predict, what a starting quarterback will be at the NFL level. If someone knew the magic formula that allowed you to look at a quarterback and his body of work from college or even his first year in the NFL and predict exactly where he will wind up when the final story is written then you could write your own contract and pretty much name your price for your “expertise” but even the best personnel guys to ever work at the NFL level have made some horrific mistakes. John Avery anyone?

So with all of that in mind let's pivot away from the quarterback position despite all of us knowing that the future of the team will ultimately be decided by development at that position more than any other spot on the field. So tonight’s Phinsider Question Of The Day is after Tua what player’s development from last season to this season will have the largest impact on the overall fortunes of this team for the 2021 season? Also please tell us why you selected the player you selected.

As this is a nightly post (when there is not a live game thread) also feel free to not only discuss the question/topic of the day but to use this as a live thread where the rules are pretty wide open, and you can discuss nearly anything so long as your continue to follow the site rules. Speaking of site rules the three rules that come with a zero-tolerance policy are that we do not allow ANY personal attacks against your fellow ‘Phins fan or even a troll from another site. Flag it and walk away, do not get yourself banned over another’s stupidity. Beyond that, there is no discussion or even references to anything remotely religious or political. There are plenty of sites for those discussions elsewhere but this is not and never will be one of them.
