Everyone knows about the Pro Football Hall Of Fame and also the fact that there are some ex Miami Dolphins players that have been overlooked and are long overdue for induction to the hall. The Miami Dolphins also have the “Miami Dolphins Honor Roll”. Their honor roll is also sometimes referred to as the “Ring Of Honor” as the inductees into the Honor Roll are commemorated by having their name on a plaque along with their number hung on a ring around the second level of Hard Rock Stadium.
The Honor Roll includes some that were contributors such as co-founder and owner Joe Robbie and Jim Mandich who was recognized for both his time with the team as a player, where he played tight end and also for his longtime stint as the voice of the Dolphins on their radio network. There are coaches that are recognized with both longtime Hall Of Fame head coach Don Shula and former defensive coordinator Bill Arnsparger making the cut. The ring also includes the 1972 undefeated season and the two Super Bowl victories for Super Bowls VII and VIII. As far as the list of former players in the ring it currently includes Larry Csonka, Bob Griese, Jim Langer, Paul Warfield, Nick Buoniconti, Larry Little, Dwight Stephenson, Bob Kuechenberg, Nat Moore, Dan Marino, Mark Clayton, Mark Duper, Dick Anderson, Richmond Webb, Bob Baumhower, Doug Betters, Jake Scott, Bill Stanfill, Jason Taylor, and Zach Thomas.
The team has also retired some of those same players' numbers. The three players who have had their number retired are Larry Csonka #39, Bob Griese #12, and Dan Marino #13. So tonight’s Phinsider Question Of The Day is what former player should the Miami Dolphins consider placing in the Honor Roll? Beyond that which of those or any former inductees that have yet to have their numbers retired should have their numbers retired?
As this is a nightly post (when there is not a live game thread) also feel free to not only discuss the question/topic of the day but to use this as a live thread where the rules are pretty wide open, and you can discuss nearly anything so long as your continue to follow the site rules. Speaking of site rules the three rules that come with a zero-tolerance policy are that we do not allow ANY personal attacks against your fellow ‘Phins fan or even a troll from another site. Flag it and walk away, do not get yourself banned over another’s stupidity. Beyond that, there is no discussion or even references to anything remotely religious or political. There are plenty of sites for those discussions elsewhere but this is not and never will be one of them.
