Why the Dolphins Should Draft Tua AND Jalen

Before you burn me at the stake, hear me out for a little bit.

This could be the answer to the decades-long question of "Who will lead the Dolphins back to the Promised Land?"

Think about it. Both Tua Tagovailoa and Jalen Hurts possess a lot of dual-threat ability and pocket ability. Both have proven they can lead their teams to a championship win. Both have proven to be selfless, and big fans of one another, maybe even each others' biggest fans. Both have big-time numbers that show their skill, and very impressive winning percentages. Ross has shown he wants an athletic QB, so he would be super happy with this as well.

Drafting both of these players, in my opinion, would result in very good outcomes in every scenario I can think of. Tua never recovers from his injury history? Ok, we have Hurts and Rosen battling to be QB1. Tua makes a full recovery? Cool, now Hurts can be dangled as trade bait, and can fetch a handsome return if he shows ability in the opportunities he will surely get. Hurts is an excellent insurance policy for Tua: he is built like a tank, and smart enough not to put himself in harm's way.

The more I think about this scenario, the more I like it, the more I think this could solve the biggest need at the most important position for the Dolphins for years to come. Ideally, they trade back a bit, take Tua in the 6-12 range, then take Hurts early in the 2nd round as I don't think he lasts much longer. The Dolphins can still fill their roster with high-impact players with their other 5 picks in the first 3 rounds.

I think both the #TuaTankers and the #TuaHaters can get behind this idea. Sure, the Dolphins would bypass the opportunity to pick a great player with their early 1st round pick, but the upside of Tua making a full recovery is too big to ignore. He is unanimously seen as a top-5 talent in this draft class, and with the advancements of modern medicine, more players are making full recoveries from serious injuries than ever before.

What do you guys think?
