Dolphins will interview Darren Rizzi on Friday for vacant HC job

Is Darren Rizzi a legit candidate?

NFL: New York Jets at Miami Dolphins Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

The next head coach of the Miami Dolphins could be decided sooner than later.

And by most reports, it’s a three-man race between Cowboys’ defensive backs coach Kris Richard, Patriots’ de-facto defensive coordinator Brian Flores, and Dolphins’ special teams coach Darren Rizzi.

The two outside candidates have already interviewed for the job. And a second interview for both could come as soon as next week. (Assuming the Cowboys and/or Patriots are eliminated this weekend)

But what about Darren Rizzi, who has been endorsed by current and former Dolphins’ players.

According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafola, Rizzi will interview Friday for the Dolphins’ vacant head coach position.

It is anyone’s guess as to whether or not Rizzi has a real chance at the Dolphins’ head coaching vacancy. But if players have any say in it, he might have a better chance than we think.
