Brock Osweiler to start versus Packers as Ryan Tannehill return eyes for Week 12

NFL: New York Jets at Miami Dolphins Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

The Brock Osweiler era for the Miami Dolphins will continue at least one more week, according to head coach Adam Gase. Starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill, who has missed the last four weeks with an injury to his throwing shoulder, will not be available for this weekend’s game against the Green Bay Packers. Tannehill will rest his arm through the team’s Week 11 bye before starting to throw again.

The Dolphins are hopeful that Tannehill will be ready to play in Week 12 against the Indianapolis Colts.

Osweiler has started four games this season, tallying 1,034 passing yards on 90-for-141 passing, giving him a 63.8 completion rate. He has thrown for six touchdowns with three interceptions, giving him a 91.1 passer rating, a career high for the former Denver Broncos, Houston Texans, and Cleveland Browns quarterback.

Miami, coming off a win over division rivals the New York Jets, is 5-4 on the season, second in the AFC East and seventh in the AFC. The Packers are 3-4-1 this year, third in the NFC North and losers of their last two games. Green Bay is a 9.5-point favorite in the game. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:25pm ET from Green Bay’s Lambeau Field.
