The Miami Dolphins and Los Angeles Chargers have released their inactive players list for their Week 2 meeting. According to NFL rules, teams are only allowed to use 46 players on game day, meaning seven players from the 53-man roster must be declared inactive 90 minutes prior to the game.
For the Dolphins, the biggest name on the inactive list is linebacker Lawrence Timmons, who apparently left the team sometime this weekend for an undisclosed reason. Reports indicated he was angry, but not what caused the anger or if it was at the team or something in his personal life. More details will come out on it eventually.
Chase Allen is expected to start in Timmons’ place. Mike Hull will start at middle linebacker after the season-ending injury to Raekwon McMillan early in preseason.
During Friday’s injury report, the Dolphins ruled out linebacker Rey Maualuga - a player who the team needs to at least add depth to a linebacker corps that is now without Timmons as well. The Chargers ruled out cornerback Jason Verrett, safety Rayshawn Jenkins, and wide receiver Mike Williams on their side of the injury report.
The full list of inactives for both teams is:
