Tonight’s first of two Monday Night Football games will feature the New Orleans Saints who will travel to U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis Minnesota to take on the Minnesota Vikings. The many story line for this evenings game will no doubt be Adrian Peterson. It seems likely that Peterson will hold a bit of a grudge against his old team when the Vikings showed zero interest in re-signing him following last season after a 10-year career in Minnesota that saw him amass almost twelve thousand yards on the ground.
Adrian Peterson is now 32, an age when most NFL backs have either slowed down significantly or long since walked away from the game. Peterson found himself on IR for most of the last season rushing for less than 100 yards in three games following the 2015 season where he led the league with 1,485 yards. Despite his own team not willing to take another chance on him the Saints, who already had a 1,000-yard rusher in Mark Ingram, inked Peterson to a two year, show me what you have left, deal.
