Ryan Tannehill injured during training camp; walks to locker room

NFL: Miami Dolphins-Training Camp Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

Miami Dolphins starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill appears to have sustained a leg injury during Thursday’s training camp practice. Tannehill was scrambling during 11-on-11 drills and landed awkwardly on the sideline among a group of players. He was attended to by trainers for a few seconds before he got back up. He then walked, without a noticeable limp according to multiple reports, back to the locker room.

Matt Moore replaced Tannehill with the first team offense.

Tannehill is returning after sustaining a sprained left knee last year, an injury that kept him from playing in the last three games of the year and missed Miami’s playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. His injury did not require surgery, but he is wearing a brace on the left knee this year.

After his awkward landing on the sideline today, it could simply be a case of landing oddly on the brace. Tannehill being able to walk back to the locker room is a good sign, but more information will have to come later today.
