The Splash Zone 8/18/17: Dolphins Lose To Ravens 31 - 7

New, comments

Welcome to the Splash Zone, the quickest way to get your day started off right. We bring you a rundown of Miami Dolphins news from the last 24 hours.

What a boring football game. The Dolphins fell to the Ravens 31 - 7 as the Dolphins played some very sloppy football. Jay Cutler played for two series and made some aggressive throws. He mainly targeted DeVante Parker, so look out for that combo to become a frequent thing on Sundays. The Dolphins will head to Philadelphia next week to take on the Eagles.

You can check out that story here, and the rest of the day's round-up below.

It was a ragged night on all sides of the ball for the Dolphins, but the offensive line and kick teams were particularly bad.

Five instant takeaways: Miami Dolphins vs. Baltimore Ravens recap | The Daily Dolphin
MIAMI GARDENS—The ugly preseason didn’t get much better for the Dolphins in Thursday night’s 31-7 loss to Baltimore. The upside for Miami is there are no significant injuries to report and it was important for the team to finally get Jay Cutler on the field for full-speed action.

Dolphins Quarterbacks

Miami Dolphins: Tannehill proved toughness once and he’ll do it again | Dave's Digital Domain
Ryan Tannehill is a tough guy or he wouldn’t have started 77 consecutive games while absorbing a total of 213 career sacks. Of course, that streak is over now, with knee trouble stopping the Miami Dolphins’ quarterback late last season and a training-camp relapse knocking him out fo...

Dolphins Defense

Dolphins defense has to hold the fort while Jay Cutler, offense gel | Miami Herald
This night was memorable only in that the Miami Dolphins, beset by terrible and significant injuries the past two weeks, survived without losing anyone who is going to figure prominently in the team’s future. Indeed, Adam Gase’s team didn’t lose anyone, period, which one hopes turns into something of a trend the remainder of this preseason.
