The Miami Dolphins didn’t take much time bolstering the LB unit and increasing depth, signing Junior Sylvestre (#44) today, who was released by the Buffalo Bills about 3 months ago in mid-May. The roster spot became available when the Dolphins placed Ryan Tannehill on IR.
Sylvestre entered the league as an UDFA for the Indianapolis Colts in 2016 and spent the 2016 Training Camp with the club, then spending a few months with the AFC East rival Buffalo Bills.
Sylvestre played college ball for the Toledo Rockets after graduating from South Broward High School. He earned 1st team Mid-American Conference selections twice in his 3 years starting for the Toledo program. He compiled 286 tackles, 3 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries, 1 interception, and 7 sacks during his collegiate career.
