Raekwon McMillan believed to have torn ACL

The injury bug continues to beat down the Miami Dolphins early in the summer. After a concussion to running back Jay Ajayi, a torn biceps muscle for Ted Larsen, and a re-injuring of Ryan Tannehill’s knee, it appears another potential starter for the team could miss significant time. Rookie linebacker Raekwon McMillan may be out for the year after an apparent leg injury during Thursday night’s preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons

According to Luis Zabala and seconded by Andy Slater, the Dolphins believe McMillan, the team’s second-round pick this season, tore his ACL during the first quarter of Thursday’s game.

McMillan was pushed into a pile of players during punt coverage after Miami opened the game with a three-and-out. He rolled awkwardly as he hit the pile, and he stayed on the ground after the incident. He was attended to by trainers on the field before walking under his own power to the sideline, where he was checked again on the trainers table. He was then taken to the locker room.

Officially, the team listed him as questionable to return with a knee injury. He was later downgraded to out for the game. It sounds like he may be out for the remainder of the season.
