We have signed cornerback Alterraun Verner and placed linebacker Koa Misi on injured reserve.

Koa Misi: the beleaguered LB has fought injuries over the last few seasons, with the most recent setback spinal fusion surgery. Misi was unable to pass his physical and the team placed him on Injured Reserve (IR) today. According to Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post (via Twitter), Koa Misi “is not eligible to return at all from IR this year.”
Although there was speculation Misi might be able to play this year, it appears the road to recovery will take longer than he and his agent expected. Raekwon McMillan stands to be the biggest beneficiary of this unfortunate news for Koa.
The Miami Dolphins worked out Alterraun Verner, formerly of the Tennessee Titans and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and subsequently signed him to a contract. Personally, I’m curious if they brought him in for overall depth, or to beget more competition at the nickel corner position with Bobby McCain.
