The Miami Dolphins on Friday announced the signing of 14 undrafted free agents, confirming a list that was rumored over the past week. Miami began their rookie minicamp on Friday, allowing for the team to finalize any details needed in the players’ contracts.
Joining the Dolphins are Southern Illinois linebacker Chase Allen, Arizona State punter Matt Haack, Akron cornerback Larry Hope, University of Miami wide receiver Malcolm Lewis, Houston defensive end Cameron Malveaux, Temple defensive end Praise Martin-Oguike, UNLV cornerback Torry McTyer, Arkansas wide receiver Drew Morgan, Stanford wide receiver Francis Owusu, Northwestern Oklahoma State defensive end Joby Saint Fleur, Michigan running back De’Veon Smith, Virginia tackle Eric Smith, Georgia safety Maurice Smith and Mississippi wide receiver Damore’ea Stringfellow.
The Dolphins’ rookie minicamp will run through Sunday, and will primarily be an introduction to the NFL and Miami. The team did a similar program last year, with no scheduled on-field practices. Rookies were introduced to coaches and the veteran players, as well as having an opportunity to begin classroom work on the offensive and defensive schemes, along with classes on life in the NFL.
