The Miami Dolphins have signed rookie linebacker Raekwon McMillan, according to a report from the Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson. As with all rookie contracts, the deal is for four years.
McMillan was the Dolphins’ second-round pick this year, coming out of Ohio State. He is expected to compete for a starting position in the linebacker group, most like as the strong-side linebacker with Kiko Alonso on the weak-side and Lawrence Timmons in the middle.
The signing of McMillan marks the second rookie deal to be completed for the Dolphins from among their seven draft picks. On Thursday, guard Isaac Asiata tweeted a picture of himself signing his contract with the Dolphins.
Miami still has defensive end Charles Harris (first round), Clemson cornerback Cordrea Tankersly (third round), LSU defensive tackle Davon Godchaux (fifth round), Oklahoma State defensive tackle Vincent Taylor (defensive tackle), and Virginia Tech wide receiver Isaiah Ford to sign. The team opened their rookie minicamp on Friday.
