This is great news for the Miami Dolphins, who started OTAs on Tuesday. Miami expects big things out of the 2017 draft class, particularly from Harris who should have a big role in Matt Burke’s defense. His presence as a pass rusher is something the Dolphins desperately need opposite of Cameron Wake.
Here’s a quick look at what Charles Harris has to offer.
Harris’ initial step is second to none. His quick jump off the line allows him to stunt inside, resulting in a tackle for loss. This is something the Dolphins desperately need on defense, primarily against the run.
In this play, Harris beats the lineman off the line, disrupting the play in the backfield. The initial penetration forces the running back inside, resulting in a tackle for loss.
Here, he Harris once again shows his explosion off the line. Utilizing the most dangerous move in his arsenal, the spin move. The left tackle doesn’t stand a chance.

In this play, Harris uses his hands nicely to fight off the left tackle. Despite being held, he is still able to get the sack.
Again, you see Harris’ initial step off the ball. He’s got two steps, building momentum before the left tackle’s hand is out of the dirt. A vicious spin move beats the tackle inside, resulting in the sack.

I’m not sure if he will start in 2017, but I’m excited to watch Charles Harris develop into a premier pass rusher in the NFL. His initial step is extremely quick, and he possesses a deadly spin move.. He’s everything the Dolphins need at defensive end and should develop nicely under one the league’s best in Cameron Wake.
