The Miami Dolphins began day three of the 2017 NFL Draft with three fifth-round picks and a seventh-round selection. After a trade in the fifth round, Miami made two only picks in the round, but added a sixth-round selection to go with their seventh. Now, as the sixth round unfolds, the Dolphins have selected Oklahoma State defensive tackle Vincent Taylor.
That marks a second straight defensive tackle pick for the Dolphins.
NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein writes of Taylor:
Taylor has consecutive seasons of good production in the pass-happy Big 12, but he lacks the consistent contact balance and anchor that teams will be looking for from an interior defender. His ability to disrupt off the snap with quickness and strength gives him a chance to get a foot in the door as a rotational tackle.
The Dolphins have one remaining pick, a seventh-rounder.
