Could another elite prospect fall to the Dolphins at 22?

NCAA Football: Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl-Alabama vs Washington Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

Last season, a draft-day video sabotaged Laremy Tunsil’s chance at being the #1 overall player in the 2016 draft. The video was a blessing in disguise for the Dolphins, who landed the draft’s top prospect with the 13th pick in the draft. Fast forward to 2017 and another highly touted prospect could suffer the same fate, this time due to injury. Per multiple reports, Alabama linebacker Reuben Foster may need surgery prior to the 2017 season.

Although it is unlikely the #1 linebacker in this year’s draft would plummet all the way to #22 overall, there is a real possibility he could fall out of the top ten. For a player who has drawn comparisons to Luke Kuechly and Patrick Willis, that would be a huge get for any team. Furthermore, Mike Tannenbaum has proven in the past he isn’t scared to trade up in order to get a player he highly covets. Miami’s defense ranked 31st against the run in 2016 and Reuben Foster would be a welcomed addition to their defense.
