The Dolphins will reportedly be visiting with defensive lineman Jabaal Sheard. Sheard was part of the New England Patriots Super Bowl team last season and has played for them since 2015.
Sheard was originally drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He spend four seasons with them before being signed by the Patriots in 2015.
Over the past two seasons, Sheard has recorded 13 sacks and four forced fumbles for the Patriots. But during last season, the team reduced his role in the defense in favor of Trey Flowers. Even with a diminished role, Sheard was an effective edge rusher for New England.
The Dolphins could use some help on the defensive line as depth is needed behind Cameron Wake and Andre Branch. For the right price, Sheard would be a great depth signing for the unit.
