As you can tell from the tweet above, Dontari Poe will be visiting with the Dolphins tomorrow at some time. The defensive tackle has been making the rounds as he has already visited with the Falcons, Colts, and Jaguars.

Poe is viewed as a run-stuffing defensive tackle which is much needed on this Dolphins defense. As we witnessed last season, the defense was putrid against the run as the team allowed an average of 140 yards per game.

Poe was the 11th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. Poe has been with the Chiefs since then and has had a pretty good five year career. He’s recorded 200 tackles, 13 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 12 pass deflections, and has recorded 3 touchdowns. Interestingly, all three of his touchdowns have come on offense as he has 2 rushing TD’s and 1 passing TD.

If the team were to reach a deal with Poe, he would probably start along with Ndamukong Suh even though Jordan Phillips is penciled in as the starter right now. But even if he’s not a starter, the team could use the depth on the defensive line.
