After reading several of the posts and seeing the comments from people, I want to write this post to clarify what I believe is a critical off season for us.

First of all, I am a huge proponent for building our team through the draft. However, this year we only have two premium picks in RD 1 (22) and in RD 2 (54). We will receive a compensatory 3rd RD draft choice for Vernon and likely a 5th RD draft choice for Miller. Unfortunately, this year we do not have a lot of draft capital. Therefore, I believe that we need to take care of our needs through FA so that when it's time for the FO to make selections they are taking BPA.

Let's start with the Defense and our needs are DE, LB's, and CB.

The two players that I would target are Jason Pierre Paul and Zach Brown.

JPP had 7.0 sacks in 12 games and he is only 28 years old. While many would argue that Andre Branch should be re-signed, I believe that JPP has been a more consistent player. Along with Cameron Wake, we would have the best pass rushers in the division.

Zach Brown MLB had 147 tackles for the Bills last season and by moving Alonso to WLB, we can draft a SLB.

Cornerback would be an area that I would focus in on the draft.

Next Offense and our needs are OL & TE.

OL: Cut Branden Albert. Move Tunsil to LT and sign a LG in Free Agency. Re-structure Pouncey's contract. Draft a RG. James stays at RT.

The LG that I would target is Ron Leary of the Cowboys. He will be 28 in late April and would provide us with a quality veteran. Dallas has the best OL in the league and they cannot afford to pay him. We saw how important OL play worked out for us this past season. No more band aids.

TE would be in the draft. There are a number of good prospects.

Extensions for both Jones and Landry. Hopefully we can re-sign Stills to a reasonable contract.

By making these moves in FA, the FO will have the flexibility to draft impact players regardless of position. We saw what happened in the last draft when Tunsil fell into our laps. We have plenty of time to discuss draft prospects especially with the Scouting Combine and Pro Days coming soon.
