The week 4 match-up between the New Orleans Saints and the Miami Dolphins has come to a close. The teams faced off in London with the final score of 20 -0 with a Saints victory. Let’s take a look back at what happened during today’s game.
First Half Reactions
The Dolphins first drive of the game was a beauty as the team drove downfield into the endzone. Unfortunately, an interception ended the drive as Jay Cutler threw a bad pass to Julius Thomas, who didn’t even turn around to look for the ball.
Saints first drive was pretty much the same as the Dolphins, but with a different outcome. Drew Brees and the Saints drove down, but were unable to convert on a long third down. Will Lutz missed the field goal attempt and that makes three straight weeks where a kicker has missed a field goal against the Dolphins. Both teams were also dealing with communication issues on the sidelines.
Flags. More flags. Some more flags. Even more flags. You get the picture...as there was basically a flag after every play which really disrupted the flow of this game for both teams.
The Saints finally put some points up on the board, right before half time thanks to a 43-yard field goal from Lutz.
This game is sooooooooooooo boring, please send help.
Saints up 3 - 0 at the half.
Second Half Reactions
Saints get the ball at the half and drive down the field. In Dolphins territory the Saints managed to convert a 4th and 1 to keep the drive going. Brees finds Michael Thomas for the first touchdown of the morning. Score: 10 - 0.
Dolphins first offensive drive in the second half is a 3 and out. Rinse and repeat.
Dolphins offense is pitiful. Not sure if it’s play calling or just personnel issues. Something has to change.
4th quarter, Lutz kicks a 45-yard field goal. Score: 13 - 0. The Dolphins are somehow still in this game.
Signs of life as the team finally converts for a first down. But Dolphins will Dolphin and nothing happens as Cutler is hit and fumbles, but Ja’Wuan James recovers it.
Saints driving again and Ted Ginn Jr. may have put the game away with a big catch on 3rd down. Cam Wake with a sack in the red zone!!! Alvin Kamara with the dagger on a shovel pass from Brees. Score: 20 - 0.
Dolphins offense can’t do anything, turnover on downs. Shutout incoming.
The Dolphins defense held up, but for some reason this offense is just garbage right now. Time to hit the panic button.
Next Week
The Dolphins will travel home and face off against the Tennesse Titans next Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium.
