NFL Playoff picks: Straight up winners for the Divisional round games

New, comment

Catching up with our The Phinsider picks pool for the season.

NFL: AFC Divisional-Houston Texans at New England Patriots Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

We did not publish last week’s The Phinsider contributors’ picks pool simply because I did not have time to put it together. That said, everyone did make their picks, so we are still on track to have every game of the NFL 2016-2017 season picked by a group of our contributors.

The regular season actually ended in a tie, with Houtz and me sitting at 169-85-2 on the year. Just two games behind us was James McKinney, who was 167-87-2 on the season, then came SUTTON at 163-91-2, Kdog92 at 160-94-2, and Chris “Duke” Early at 144-110-2.

SUTTON, unfortunately, was unavailable last week to make his picks, so he fell out of the group heading into the NFL Playoffs. Duke, Houtz, and James were all 4-0 last week, while I was 3-1 (picking Miami with my heart may have lost me the season - go figure), and Kdog was 2-2. That means, heading into this week, Houtz has a one game advantage over me, while James is just one game behind me. This week will be interesting, because we do have some different picks in the four divisional games.

Here are our picks (and, yes, I realize the first two games have already been played for this week, but the “did not have time to put it together” caveat above continued through yesterday) for this weekend’s games:

Seattle Seahawks at Atlanta Falcons

Houston Texans at New England Patriots

Green Bay Packers at Dallas Cowboys

Pittsburgh Steelers at Kansas City Chiefs
