Dolphins roster cuts end with Johnson, Hendy, John moves

NFL: Preseason-Jacksonville Jaguars at New York Jets Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

The Miami Dolphins have released offensive lineman Ulrick John, linebacker James-Michael Johnson, and safety A.J. Hendy as the last three moves the team had to make to get to the 53-man roster limit. The deadline for the moves was by 4pm ET Saturday.

The Dolphins started the day with 74 players, plus Chris Culliver on the Physically Unable to Perform list. A day featuring 20 players either being released or waived, and Culliver being moved to the Reserve/PUP list, finally saw Miami get down to the roster limit they will have for the remainder of the 2016 season.

The team will also be allowed to create a 10 player practice squad starting on Sunday.
