Dolphins roster cuts: Predicting the wide receiver position

NFL: Preseason-Atlanta Falcons at Miami Dolphins Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

The Miami Dolphins have several tough choices ahead of them over the next couple of days. Who will make the roster, and who will have to be cut? There is a numbers game at play, with only 53 slots available, and the team needing to ensure it has depth across the roster. How will it break down? We continue building the roster with the wide receiver position.

On the roster: Jarvis Landry, DeVante Parker, Kenny Stills, Leontee Carroo, Jakeem Grant

On the bubble: Rashawn Scott, Griff Whalen

The wide receiver corps, similar to the quarterback position debate between two and three players making the roster, may come down to the decision for the team to keep five or six receivers. Jarvis Landry, DeVante Parker, and Kenny Stills will take the top three depth chart positions, while Leonte Carroo and Jakeem Grant both have shown potential in the preseason and have draft stock to keep them on the roster. The bottom two players on the list, Griff Whalen and Rashawn Scott, both have had good moments in the preseason, but whether or not it is enough to keep them on the roster has to be seen.

53-man roster prediction: Jarvis Landry, DeVante Parker, Kenny Stills, Leontee Carroo, Jakeem Grant, Griff Whalen

Practice squad: Rashawn Scott

Cut: None.

Roster total: 12 of 53

Practice squad total: 2 of 10
