I know that there have been some stories that surround the team recently that have gotten some fans heated and that is of course only compounded by a very tough loss. Just please remember that we are all fans of the same team and this site is like a big, admittedly dysfunctional, family. We do not wish to discourage debate as that is obviously one of the big things that drive's the traffic on this site are the comment sections and the unique ability to interact with your fellow DolFan. Just please remember to adhere to the site's rules and not let your emotions get the best of you. I and even Kevin have been guilty of that as well at times but please try and think before hitting the post button when emotions are ruling the day. Our goal at the end of the day is to make the site a place where everyone feels welcome and free to express their opinion about their favorite football team without being attacked on a personal level for having those opinions.
The two other rules that we tend to be strict on, outside of the no personal attacks rule, are no political talk and no religion talk. The reasons for these two rules, if you have spent any time on the internet, are quite obvious. We want to keep the discussions on football around here as much as possible with the understanding that social issues do creep into the overall picture of following a particular team from time to time. We also realize that certain subjects, by the very nature of what happened, have very overt political overtones to them. That being said there is a way to voice an opinion for or against something without bringing politics, going off on a political rant that is not specific to the team or the incident or bringing specific political figures into the mix.
I also encourage any of our newer site members or maybe even those that are longtime members but could use a refresher to go back and look over our Phinsider Rules Of The Road post (CLICK HERE FOR MUCH EXCITEMENT).
