Monday Night Football kicks off this season with their now annual double header. This will also mark the 47th season for Monday Night Football. The early matchup features the Pittsburgh Steelers who travel to Greater Landover, Maryland to take on the Washington Redskins. The recent history between these two ballclubs has the Steelers winning every one of their last five meetings.
The Redskins are coming off a season that saw them win the awful NFC East with a 9 and 7 record. Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins will return this season as the starter. In his first full season starting for the Redskins, he put up solid numbers with 4,166 yards through the air to go along with 29 touchdowns.
The Steelers are likewise coming off of a season that saw them make the playoffs. The Steelers had a 10 and 6 record that found them playing in the wild-card round of the playoffs where they beat the Cincinnati Bengals. The Steelers then came close to defeating the eventual Super Bowl champs, the Denver Broncos in the Divisional round giving many Pittsburgh fans high hopes for the 2016 season.
