The Miami Dolphins saw several key players leave last week’s third preseason game with apparent injuries, including defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, linebacker Jelani Jenkins, and defensive end Terrence Fede. The team appeared to be getting some good injury news on Monday as cornerback Xavien Howard and running back Kenyan Drake are preparing to make their preseason debut this week against the Tennesse Titans.
Then, Monday’s practice happened. The Dolphins saw wide receiver Kenny Stills leave practice and head immediately into the training room. Wide receiver DeVante Parker and guard Laremy Tunsil also left practice from apparent injuries. Suddenly, the injury bug that started with Mike Pouncey in the Preseason Week 2 game injuring his hip and continued through last week’s game is still visiting the Dolphins with three more key players going down.
Luckily, it does not appear to be too serious. The Miami Herald’s Armando Salguero reports that the team will now know more about Parker’s injury until some time Tuesday, but they are hopeful that it is not major. Both Tunsil and Stills, according to Salguero, are fine.
The Dolphins are changing Tuesday’s practice to a walkthrough, giving players a chance to better rest their bodies and, hopefully, end the injury streak. Miami plays the Titans on Thursday in the final preseason game for both clubs. Miami will open the regular season on September 11 with a road game against the Seattle Seahawks.
