The Miami Dolphins could find themselves with one of their top defensive players making his 2016 debut tonight as the team faces off against the Atlanta Falcons. The Dolphins have left defensive end Cameron Wake active for the game, paving the way for the 34 year old to play in his first game since tearing an Achilles tendon in October.

Wake was on the sidelines for each of Miami’s first two preseason contests.

The Dolphins face the Atlanta Falcons at 8pm tonight, a game that will be televised nationally on NBC. Miami had previously said Wake will go through pregame warm ups before any decision on his playing status was made. The team could still keep the four-time Pro Bowl selection out of the game if concerns about his Achilles tendon return in the hour remaining until kickoff.

The Dolphins have ruled out Matt Moore, Xavien Howard, Walt Aikens, Kenyan Drake, Chimdi Chekwa, Mike Pouncey, James-Michael Johnson, and Earl Mitchell.
